Game Selection, Part 3

Your best bet for maximum fun and profit is to play in a full-ring game classified as loose and passive

Such a “friendly” game is characterized by the following: 1) An average of four or five players routinely pay to see the flop, 2) There is minimal pre-flop raising, 3) When there is a pre-flop raise, it screams AA, KK, AK!, 4) A handful of players respect that occasional raise, and 5) Many players routinely play trap hands and chase long shot draws.

These loose and passive games, where happy-go-lucky players routinely play too many hands pre-flop and overplay them post-flop is the perfect setup for a knowledgeable and disciplined poker player.

This is the game you want to be in.
